Art, in any form, always caught my eyes.
My mind is like a cosmic explosion and always working in fascinating ways.
As a creative person, I’ve worked as a journalist writing for magazines, newspapers and press agencies; in the coffee industry, as professional barista; and as musician, in many different music projects.
Just recently, during the beginning of the pandemic, I answered an urge to do something new and exciting for myself and I wrote my first book, learned how to bake breads and landed in the magical world of Photoshop and found my place working as retoucher.
Having now the opportunity to add my touches, colours and textures in beautiful images in the photograph industry, I feel complete and joyful being part of a process to create high quality pieces of art.
For the past four years (2020-2024) I worked in London with the photographer Marc Haydon at his studio in Shepherds Bush, refining my skills in food, packaging and still-life retouching working closely for clients like Tesco, Tesco Cafe, Maggi, Greencore and many more. At the end of 2024, I embraced a new adventure, relocating to Portugal and transitioning to remote work.
Now, I'm flying solo and available for collaborations! Let's keep in touch!
Peace and love,
Robson Mattjie
